Parish Ministries

Altar Servers

Altar servers do exactly that, they serve at the altar.  Like a fine banquet, those trained in this ministry carry, hold, remove or bring items to the Eucharistic table so that the sacred meal of our Lord can be served. Boys & girls in grade 3 and older are invited to become Jr. Altar Servers and serve at the Saturday 5 PM Mass and the Sunday 9 AM Mass. Men and women are invited to become a Sr. Acolyte and serve at the Sunday 10:45 AM Mass and at funeral masses. A training session is held for new servers before they begin this Ministry.  Altar Servers and Sr. Acolytes are scheduled on a rotational basis.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers serve the gathered Christian assembly by assisting with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ, so that all may be strengthened and nourished to carry on the work of Jesus in the world. Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled on a rotational basis.

Lectors

The lector is not simply a public reader of the Bible. The Lord uses the lector as the instrument through whom he proclaims his Word to the people. Think of this as the lector lending God his human voice so that God's words can be spoken to us at Mass. What an amazing honor and privilege it is to read the Word of God! And what a blessing it is for us to hear it. Lectors should be at least 15 years of age. Lectors are scheduled on a rotational basis.

Children’s Liturgy

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word program takes place during all the Weekend Masses from September to June. Children age 3 and older who have not yet been confirmed are encouraged to attend. The objective of Children’s Liturgy of the Word is to provide children with the opportunity to experience the word of God in a way that makes sense to them.

Through songs, readings, guided questions and activities, the children are encouraged to talk about the liturgy and how God’s message can apply to their everyday lives. The session also provides parents with the opportunity to listen and reflect on the Sunday’s readings and homily without interruption.  These sessions are run by adults and students in grade 7 & up and you are scheduled on a rotational basis.
